I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving I truly enjoyed just relaxing and spending time with my family. I’ve been in somewhat of a creative rut. But I’m forcing myself to get out of this space regardless of how I feel right now, I take breaks as needed but I won’t allow myself to just not do anything.

I’m beyond excited for the New Year and I’m doing as much planning and putting my systems in order so next year will be a tad bit clearer for me.

 

“When preparation meets opportunity”

Always stay ready so you don’t have to get ready! Well, this past month I dropped the ball in cases where I shouldn’t have.

I normally always have business cards on hand and here lately my life has been scattered and I didn’t have not one business card, on multiple occasions. First off this is very unprofessional to me, we don’t always know other intentions but regardless I should never fall short when asked for a card. I am my brand, not being prepared looks like “Oh she’s not serious “, or “I don’t want to do business with her”. I’m telling you, people think this when you can whip out and show them work or provide them with what they ask in seconds. It’s like your elevator pitch, you have to stay ready for the opportunity at all times.

1. Always have a business card or something legible you can quickly give.

2. Make sure all of your information on your social accounts is updated so people can reach you.

(Most brand campaigns have come from my email available on my Instagram profile and on my contact page on my website.

3. Media Kit with your numbers & previous brand collaborations, or something that clearly sells you or your product.

When I email brands or when brands email me, most will ask to view my media kit. So, my media kit is already prepared and I can shoot it over as soon as someone requests it.

You can apply these tips to any type of business if you own boutique and someone compliments you on something that you’re wearing, give them a card that has the info to purchase. Not being ready when the opportunity opens for you will lead to lost sales, and hinder you from reaching your full potential.

I am, you are, we are, all a work in process. Focusing on making small changes will have a huge impact on your life, as it has mine. I truly only share things that really help me live a better, quality, and self-sufficient life.
