I have always loved Valentines day, my Mom has always showed me love on Valentine’s Day. I always looked forward to her sending me gifts and balloons at school and doing all the cute stuff. Recently, have heard so many stories about how people have only received Valentines Day gifts from romantic partners. Valentines Day is way more than receiving gifts romantically, it can be a day where you show yourself and others love, it really doesn’t have to be a romantic gesture.
So here are my 9 way’s to treat yourself this Valentines Day even if you do have a partner/spouse this day can can also be a self appreciation day. Take time for Yo’Self, bask in self love and treat yourself.
1. Book a Massage
Literally my favorite thing to do is get a 90 min massage with hot stones. This is a monthly self care thing that I really try to keep up with. So worth it, the benefits are beyond worth. Massages have helped me sleep better and get more in tune with my body. I highly recommend this, ask for deep tissue specialist if you wants a deeper massage or if you’re on the lighter side go with the Swedish massage.
2. Pedicure & Manicure
A classic you can never go wrong with a good manicure and pedicure, upgrade the package for a little more special care. Ask for wine or champagne at the nail salon, they normally have it and will gladly give it to you by request.
3. Do Something You’ve Always Wanted To Do
What’s something you keep putting off that you really want to do? Skydiving, a photo shoot, trying. a new hairstyle. It’s the simple things that you do for yourself that really make a difference in your well being. You’ll look back and be so happy & proud that you invested in yourself, in your happiness.
4. Take A Day Off
Sometimes doing nothing is the best self care and self appreciation. Literally, whatever your nothing is do it. My nothing is staying in bed all day ordering take-out and not doing anything that requires me to work. I love it because it helps me rebalance when I don’t take time off in a really long time.
5. Book Yourself A Reservation To A Fancy Restaurant
My favorite, I love to eat so you know this was going to be on the list. Lately my favorite food right now is Thai food. I highly recommend booking a reservation for your favorite restaurant treat yourself to a nice meal!
6. Buy Yourself Something You’ve Always Wanted
I would be lying if I told you I didn’t have a wishlist because I do! I save things that are on my top dollar list to my phone and favorite them in photos or on the shopping app. Treat yourself to something you’ve been dying to have, you deserve it!
I love a good staycation. Treat yourself to a nice hotel or getaway that’s close to you. I think this is super underrated but definitely worth booking a nice hotel nearby or going on a day trip close by just to get away. A simple refresher that doesn’t take much money or time.
8. Shopping Trip
We all deserve a shopping trip a little once in a while. Take the day and go to the mall, or spend a day on the couch and order the things you want just because you can.
9. Vineyard Goals
I love a good vineyard. This is the perfect place for valentines day. The fancy dinner, the wine tasting. This is the perfect place if you’re going solo or with a partner. Relaxing and super chill.
10. Book a yoga session
I love yoga so much, It’s amazing how great and balanced I feel after a session. If you never been, definitely book a session, I recommend hot yoga if you’re looking for something a little more intense. All in all you can’t go wrong with a good yoga session. Your mind and body will thank you!
Thank you so much for reading, I hope this Valentine’s Day and this year you love yourself a little deeper and treat yourself amazing too!
With love, Yalaina E’lori
